“Severus Snape and the Marauders” Needs Your Help!

Back in July, Justin Zagri, the producer, writer and director of The Greater Good short fan film created an Indiegogo campaign to hopefully raise money to produce a second fan film, Severus Snape and the Marauders. The campaign, which had a goal to raise $39,000, unfortunately did not meet its goal. In fact, in only reached $14,000, which is so unfortunate, because The Greater Good is so good, and I just know that this new film could be just as good as, if not better than, its predecessor. Justin took some time to regroup, and now, a new Kickstarter campaign has been opened for donations (complete with some awesome perks)! Check out the preview for Severus Snape and the Marauders:

Doesn’t this movie look awesome? It is so true that “awesome things should exist in this world”, so why not donate to that cause? I am planning on getting the $75 reward, because with that donation comes these perks: a DVD with BOTH movies (this new one plus The Greater Good), a Hogwarts acceptance letter, my name on the Marauder’s Map (in the film credits), AND a copy of the script signed by the cast and crew!

Right now, with only one day into the campaign, Severus Snape and the Marauders has already raised over $8,000, and their goal is less than their Indiegogo goal was: only $18,000. This means that they have 31 more days to raise another $10,000, which I think is totally doable.

Actually, there are extended goals if the initial goal is reached (and if by some fluke it isn’t, the film won’t be made, because it is a fixed campaign). In fact, if this campaign raises $40,000 (their highest extended goal), they will shoot a SECOND short film, based on the short story J.K. Rowling wrote about James and Sirius being chased by a couple of Muggle police officers! I don’t know about you, but that sounds cool!

So what do you think? Do you want to see this film happen? Donate at Kickstarter now!
