The Fault In Our Stars, my first favorite John Green book. Paper Towns, my second favorite. I am so excited for this movie.
Especially now that the first trailer and first poster have been released. Both look so awesome! The poster features Cara Delevingne and her sweeping hair with Nat Wolff, who played Isaac in The Fault in Our Stars.
With the trailer, there’s so much more to see. Stay tuned for (my) commentary after the trailer (below):
Voiceover by Q: The way I figure it, everyone gets a miracle. My miracle was I wound up living across the street from Margo Roth Spiegelman. She was inarguably the most gorgeous creature that God had ever created. Margo’s life was a series of unbelievably epic adventures. As senior year drew to a close, Margo and I were practically strangers, until this one night…
From there, the “nine things” begins. What I love, so far, is that you can just tell that John Green’s pen is all over this. It is imbibed with John Green’s spirit. When Q says, “I can feel my heart beating in my chest” and Margo replies, “That is the way you should feel your whole life”, I know already that I’m going to absolutely love this movie. And then there’s John Green’s genius use of metaphor: “It’s a paper town, paper houses and paper people. Everything is uglier up close.”
Q’s voice again: Margo always loved mysteries. Maybe she loved them so much, she became one.
And so the fab four (Quentin, Ben, Radar and Lacey) go on their own adventure, following the clues to find Margo. The trailer plays these scenes in mostly montage format, with an awesome “the future is forever” song playing behind it.
Q, Quentin, once more: Everyone gets a miracle. My miracle is Margo Roth Spiegelman.
July 24th cannot come soon enough… What scenes are you most excited to see? Comment!
