The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has a new song for its yet-to-come soundtrack. “Atlas” by Coldplay was released on Friday, and this song, even after my first or second listen, increased my excitement for the new Catching Fire movie by leaps and bounds—which I didn’t think was even possible, considering how excited I am for the film already.

Keep in mind that, for the first “Hunger Games” movie, there were two soundtracks released. One was called “Songs from District 12 and Beyond” and the other was a soundtrack featuring the score from the movie. It is very likely that the same will be done for the Catching Fire film and that Atlas will be featured on the “Songs Inspired by the Motion Picture” soundtrack rather than the score soundtrack.

This is Coldplay’s first endeavor into writing an original song for a motion picture soundtrack—an endeavor which I think is a successful one. Do you agree? Watch this brilliant video below and share your thoughts about it in the comments.
