Junior High Updates

Seventh and eighth grade lesson plans, Spelling City words, and grade books are now up to date. Don't pay so much attention to what grade your students currently have as to what assignments they are missing (there are many zeros in the grades). Students should hand in anything that they are missing by next Monday, December 5th, so I can have time to grade their papers and post grades to the office by Wednesday, December 7th, which is mid-terms. Students are also welcome to retake tests or quizzes to improve scores on their own time. Thanks.

Current Lesson Plans

Lesson plans are now current as of the past two weeks, plus this upcoming week. Seventh and eighth grade plans will be updated tomorrow when I have the chance to look through their textbooks for specific page numbers.

Updates to Come Soon

I know that I am behind on posting lesson plans--these are current as of two weeks ago--and grades--which haven't been updated since the second quarter started. I don't want to give excuses, but the All School Play last week and my upcoming winter student piano recital the week after next have been taking precedence lately.

I have also been working on a CD of self-composed piano music to be released within the next couple weeks as well--I understand that this is, and should be, merely a hobby, but I also want to finish it before the holidays.

That all being said, I plan to work hard during this upcoming break on catching up, both on grades and on the lesson plans from the past couple weeks. Obviously, as this is a short week, the 7th and 8th grade students don't have to worry about a Spelling test tomorrow. They will be doing Unit 9 (which I inadvertently skipped last week) next week, if students want to bring their books home and study those words over the break. They don't have to--it's only if students choose to get a leg up for next week's quiz. You'll be hearing from me again in the next few days. Thanks.

By the time this message reaches email inboxes (approximately 5:00 on Wednesday), I will have added the Spelling words to SpellingCity for this week (Unit 7), updated the lesson plans for this week, as well as updated grades for late work, as well as added a few new assignments. Please, as always, feel free to email with any questions or concerns. Thanks.

Updates This Week

I've updated the lesson plans for this week. We have Parent-Teacher Conferences tomorrow, and MEA break on Thursday and Friday, so there's really only half a week this week to plan for. I've also updated a few grades from late work that was turned in last week and today. For the remainder of this evening, I'll be grading the speeches for the senior speech class that were delivered last week (plus one today). I look forward to talking with parents tomorrow. Thanks!

Updates This Week

Once again I'm a few days late in updating the lesson plans on the Win-E-Mac website. Sorry about that. However, they are there now, and with a short week this week, and a short week next week, there will be NO SPELLING TESTS until the next full week (starting October 23rd). So, SpellingCity won't be updated until then. I've also added a few assignments to the grade books (a quiz to tenth grade and a spelling quiz and worksheet to seventh and eighth grade). I will also be working on grading students' late work tomorrow (Thursday). Please, if you have any questions about grades or their missing assignments, send me an email. Remember, parent-teacher conferences are next Tuesday.

Online Updates

The lesson plans have finally been updated for this week, which can be found on the Win-E-Mac website. Grades (see Genesis) were updated on Tuesday and submitted to the office for mid-terms. Since then, I have received some work from some students, but I have not yet graded it. I hope to have the grades updated yet again by Monday. Please let me know if you have any questions about student grades and ineligibility. Finally, for seventh and eighth graders, SpellingCity was updated yesterday to include Unit 5 words, so you may use it tonight to study. Thanks.
