#PottermoreChristmas Continues: Here’s the Answer to Riddle #3

Pottermore’s 12 Days of Christmas Gifts continues with more new content about potions and cauldrons from J.K. Rowling! It would seem that I was wrong in my original guess that the gifts on each of these twelve days wouldn’t always include new content from J.K. Rowling, but rather new content one day and other collectibles the next. It’s a good thing I was wrong about that one! However, I was right about one thing: new content articles are not necessarily “new Harry Potter stories“, so I did get that one right over the “muggle” news media.

Today, as I said, Rowling’s gifts to us are a new three-paragraph article about cauldrons, which explains in part that they’re enchanted to make them lighter to carry (I wondered how “ickle firsties” could possibly be expected to carry an iron or pewter cauldron across Diagon Alley), as well as a new four-paragraph article about potions (which is harder to find since the potion on the shelf that you need to click on is so small). This article in part explains that there is always some element of wandwork necessary in creating a potion, so no, unfortunately muggles cannot make one, given the right ingredients, a cauldron and instructions. It also gives Rowling’s thoughts: how she hated Chemistry class so much that she felt Harry’s arch-enemy (at least among the Hogwarts teaching staff) needed to teach the wizarding subject equivalent.

But I’m getting ahead of myself! If you’re going to read these two articles for yourselves, you need today’s riddle and the answer to solve it. Here’s the riddle (lovingly taken in picture form from the Pottermore Insider):

FestiveSurpriseDay3

Like the riddle on the first day, you’ll need to enter “Professor” before “Slughorn”. Just “Slughorn” won’t do. So the full answer is: Professor Slughorn. This moment and its two new articles have been added to the Pottermore Index.

Good luck finding the other collectibles in this new moment! There is, I think, three potions and a bezoar on the shelves that you can collect. One of those potions, as I’ve said already, you’ll need to click on to reveal the new content.
