Pottermore: QWC Over, Goblet Final Chapters Coming Soon

Now that the Quidditch World Cup is finally over (though it was fun while it lasted!), we can finally hope to see those pesky last few chapters of Goblet of Fire. It’s been since January that the last installment was released and since April that we Ravenclaws were promised 24-hours early access. Pottermore (which, for some reason, has been turned upside-down in its profile pictures) tweeted (and emailed) this message to the Ravenclaws today:

My guess? “Next few days” means July 31st, Harry Potter’s and J.K. Rowling’s shared birthday. Why? Because Rita Skeeter hinted in her gossip column during the Quidditch World Cup that she was going to release a new tell-all (probably inherently biased and skewed) book about Dumbledore’s Army. And also, what better day is there?

I’ll be at LeakyCon at the time, and it’s unlikely that I’ll have time to log in to Pottermore during the 24 hours early access that the Ravenclaws will be given. But, I will try to report on it here as soon as I have a free moment.

For now, let’s recap the awesomeness that was the Quidditch World Cup Final. I live-tweeted about the QWC Final the day that Ginny Potter and Rita Skeeter live-reported the event for the Daily Prophet. You can read the full report at Pottermore, and if you weren’t following @fictionrow two weeks ago, you kinda missed out. I’m not going to repost my tweets below, because there are too many, but there haven’t been many tweets since those with the hashtag #QuidditchWorldCup, so you don’t have to scroll back very far. Go check them out and go follow @fictionrow!

Once again, when I have a free moment to take advantage of the 24-hour early access, I will probably live-tweet my reactions to the new content before I summarize and formally report on it here, so yeah, follow me.

What are you most excited about seeing with the last installment of Goblet of Fire? Comment below!
