New to Wrock: Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls

Harry and the Potters may be widely considered the originator of what we now call Wizard Rock (or Wrock for short). However, I have chosen a one-man band known as Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls for the first article in my “New to Wrock” series. I have already written an article about Ministry of Magic, my personal favorite wizard rock band, but there are many more wizard rock bands out there that are still new to me. As I continue to discover and listen to more Wrock bands, I’ll write about them here.

However, if you are totally new to Wizard Rock and are not sure where to start, I would recommend listening to Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls first. I recommend reading (or I daresay watching) the entire Harry Potter series first before you listen to these two songs, because 1) they include spoilers if you haven’t read or watched the entire series and 2) you will experience intense feels after listening to these only if you understand the background information.

Without further ado, I give you two songs: End of an Era, which truly is the wizard rock song that defines the Harry Potter generation, and Open at the Close, which is a song that is set during those moments when Harry realizes and accepts that he must give up his own life.

As I said, both songs are heartbreaking. You will experience intense feels. You have been duly warned.
